DESCRIPTION

Register today for the 2023 Run for the House! The Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan is excited to announce the partnership of our Title Sponsor, Michigan State University Federal Credit Union!

We are EXCITED to announce both a 5K and 10K race in 2023! We will continue to offer a virtual option, as well.

  • In-Person Race: Participants who choose this option will participate on the marked courses beginning on MSUFCU’s Headquarters on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. with a 20-minute open start time (see details below). The 5K course will guide you out onto West Road and through the paved paths on MSUFCU’s campus. The 10K course will guide you to State Road west to Granger Meadows Park and back to MSUFCU. Both courses will be chip timed by the Michigan Running Foundation. We are also planning for a one-mile Kids’ Fun Run and route details will be available soon.
  • Virtual Race – Pick Your Pace: Participants who choose the virtual race option can run or walk the race between March 17, 2023 through March 19, 2023. Virtual participants can participate anywhere their feet will take them — at home, on a treadmill, in a neighborhood or at a local park! Virtual participants may order a race packet, but they must be picked up in person. Awards will not be available for virtual participants.

Open Start Line: 10:00-10:20am

How does an open start line work?
Start the 5K run/walk and the 10K run any time between 10:00 – 10:20 a.m. For those looking to race a competitive time, line up to start at 9:55 a.m. After the competitive start, keep an eye on the start line and begin your run/walk when you feel comfortable. You do not have to feel rushed to get to the starting line. Timing does not start until you cross the timing mats!

Kids Sprint & Fun Run begins at 9:15 a.m.

Can I bring my dog?
5K:   MSUFCU allows dogs on their campus as long as you abide by the City of East Lansing leashing ordinance and your dog can handle the social interaction of the event. If you are walking or running the 5K with your dog, we do ask that you start at the back of the starting group to avoid accidental tripping.

10K: Dogs are NOT allowed at Granger Meadows Park or on their paved trails.

*Shirt opt-out option available!

At the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan, our purpose is keeping families close to the care their sick children need, and providing comfort, support and resources for families just steps from the hospital. We can’t wait to bring you the 2023 Run for the House while continuing our commitment to keep families safe while keeping them close. We will continue to follow local government health guidelines surrounding events.

Employees of the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan are Sparrow employees. As a result, we follow the Sparrow Health System staff guidelines.

Help make a difference for families of seriously ill children. Your participation in the Run for the House 5K Run/Walk, 10K Run and Kids Run will help the Ronald McDonald House of Mid-Michigan provide a home-away-from-home for those families who have a child being hospitalized or receiving treatment at Lansing-area hospitals and clinics. The House offers a comfortable, inexpensive and private place for families to sleep, eat and relax. Here families find a caring atmosphere where they can receive strength and encouragement from others who are also going through difficult times.
